Raw crude from Ghawar contains high H₂S and high Reid Vapour Pressure (RVP). It cannot bypass Abqaiq directly to tankers without causing severe vaporisation and safety violations during marine loading.
ℹ️ Gas Constraint (Shedgum TAR)
With Shedgum shut for turnaround, associated off-gas handling and acid gas treating redundancy is constrained, lowering margin for stabiliser column gas upsets.
